Flextek Resources has partnered with a Leading Logistics Company located in West Houston (59S/Beltway) area that has a need for a Payroll Specialist. They are looking for someone with full-cycle payroll experience.
At this time, this is a contract-to-hire role!
Core Responsibilities:
- Processing payroll for 9K employees working with a team.
- Working with unions and understanding their benefits.
- Verify timekeeping records and handle discrepancies.
- Ensure that employees are paid on time and deadlines are met.
- Payroll adjustments including, vacation, sick, and other time off.
- Collect banking information for direct deposits.
- Change employee tax statuses.
- Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records.
- Set up and terminate employees in the payroll system.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of in-house payroll processing experience
- Payroll software experience is required, UltiPro/UKG preferred
- Experience with union/non-union and multistate payroll preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines and have time management skills
